Kun Khmer is a powerful and dynamic martial art originating from Cambodia. With deep historical roots dating back centuries, Kun Khmer blends striking techniques using fists, elbows, knees, and shins, making it one of the most complete and effective stand-up combat sports. More than just a sport, Kun Khmer embodies the spirit, culture, and resilience of the Cambodian people.
Our mission is to promote the beautiful Cambodian martial art Kun Khmer and Cambodian culture in Mauritius, preserving its rich heritage and sharing its profound values of discipline, respect, and perseverance. Through training, events, and cultural exchanges, we aim to inspire and educate the community about this ancient martial art.

Patrick Cundasawmy humbly serves as the Co-Vice President of the Kun Khmer International Federation, an Executive Board Member, and a dedicated coach. He is also honored to represent the Kun Khmer International Federation in Mauritius, working to promote and grow this incredible martial art with passion and commitment. He is the Founder of BMA - Bambous Martial Arts Mauritius, which operates several clubs focused and specialized in Kun Khmer training across the island. With deep respect for the roots of Kun Khmer, 2025 will be a year dedicated to promoting this rich martial art and celebrating Cambodian culture throughout Mauritius. Through training, events, and cultural exchanges, the goal is to inspire more people to embrace the art, its values, and its history—building a stronger, more connected community through the spirit of Kun Khmer.

Committed to the growth of Kun Khmer in Mauritius, Ranini has been actively promoting Kun Khmer through free training programs and community initiatives since 2010. She has established training centers across the island, ensuring accessibility for all, especially women and children. Her dedication extends beyond the gym, as she continuously advocates for Kun Khmer, inspiring the next generation of fighters and fostering a strong martial arts culture in Mauritius.

Rise Though Kun Khmer BMA Right Mania 3 Champion of Compassions
The Rise Through Kun Khmer – BMA Fight Mania 3: Champions of Compassion was a historic, landmark martial arts gala held in Mauritius. It marked the official debut of Cambodian boxing (Kun Khmer) in the country. Organised by Bambous Martial Arts (BMA) Sports Club and Compassion Unites and the Universal Integrative Health Foundation (UIHF), the event was designed to promote sport, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment. A big thanks to the Mauritian Monk the Dr Ishan Shivanand for making dreams come true.

The Competition: The gala featured 11 championship bouts with
22 local athletes demonstrating high-level striking, determination, and sportsmanship.Prominent Figures: The event was led by BMA founders
Patrick Cundasawmy (Co-Vice President of the Kun Khmer International Federation)
and multi-time world champion Ranini Cundasawmy.
It also hosted Dr. Meam Ra, the Honorary President of the
Kun Khmer International Federation,
alongside UIHF founder Dr. Ishan Shivanand.Youth Empowerment: Beyond athletic accolades, every participating youth
was awarded a "Compassion Scholarship" ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 20,000
to aid their personal and mental development.
Anneshelle Manan Chavry was named the Best Fighter of the Competition.Cultural Celebration: The fight card was accompanied by live Mauritian musical
entertainment from local artists including 3 Lakor, Warren Permal and Denis Claude Gaspard.

Kun Khmer World Championship 2025 Update: The championship, initially planned for December 2025, was postponed to February 2026 due to the border conflict. Mauritius was represented by two fighters who delivered strong performances, winning three silver medals and earning the title of Vice World Champions. Representing Mauritius: Cundasawmy Ranini two times Kun Khmer World Campion, Brambodary Yashwini, Bye Nivesha and Manan Jean Lucas.
